Hailing from East Harlem, New York, Aby's musical journey began early; he joined the East Harlem Boys Choir at age 11 and later collaborated with Marc Anthony on his first song. His rich vocal talent and stage presence made him a standout in TKA's early hits like ‘One Way Love,' ‘Come Get My Love,' and ‘X-Ray Vision.'
After parting ways with TKA in the late 1980s, Aby continued to pursue music, eventually forming the group AKtual with K7 (Louis Sharpe). In 2020, he reunited with K7 and the TKA lineup, performing together for the first time in over 30 years. This collaboration led to the release of singles such as ‘Don't Forsake Me' (2021) and ‘You Didn't Love Me' (2023)
Now, Aby Cruz returns with a fresh solo release, ‘Make Peace' (Jay Alams Remixes), available on 418 Freestyle.
